Without a hook, you get no fish.
Your fishing line is just floating aimlessly in the sea.
Without a hook, you get no reader.
Your LinkedIn post is just floating aimlessly in the internet.
How can you write a more better hook?
Use this simple framework – CANES
C – Curiosity.
Make the reader curious to find out more.
For example, ‘3 biggest problems for newbie managers’.
A – Amazing.
Wow the reader with some amazing facts.
For example, ‘The sky at 4,095m is the limit. I couldn’t climb any higher’
N – Negative.
Something that is against the norm.
For example, “In 2015, I was offered a job in the US and I turned it down’
E – Easy.
Offering an easy solution for the reader.
For example, ‘How to get a job overseas in a pharmaceutical company’
S – Sadness.
Capture the feeling of sadness.
For example, ‘How do I tell my beautiful mother that she has stage 4 breast cancer?’
Those are all examples of hooks that I have used for my posts.
So when writing your hook, make sure it’s under one of these 5 categories.
Kalau boleh 2 or more categories lagi bagus.
Focus on improving your hook. Otherwise you will get no fish la.
