Top 3 things that have greatly improved my presentation style.
Using mind grenade to blow up the mind of your audience. Bukan bom betul ya. Start the presentation with a shocking data or an emotional photo to capture the attention of the audience straightway. For example, I used the photo of the view from my living room in central Manhattan to start my presentation about my career to inspire the audience of what can be achieved.
Writing my presentation in full. Saya tulis word by word. I use pen and paper. Somehow I find it more better to get my creative juice going. I find it easier to see the story flow. It’s also easier to add new stories or delete as necessary. Lagi senang. I find this approach more better than preparing the key points only because I am not struggling to find words or phrases on stage during the actual presentation.
Using the 1-3 approach. 1 key message supported by 3 secondary messages. It helps me to focus on only delivering one key takeaway for the audience. For example, the key message of this post is that you can make great improvement to your presentation style and the 3 supporting messages are the things that have helped me.
