It was like meeting my long lost sister.
She greeted me with a big happy smile and a warm hug, and I felt the instant connection.
Suet Koon Lai (call me Koon) is sharp like a knife and full of wisdom. Not surprising since she survived 20+ years working for a top consulting firm in Australia. Now she’s an executive coach and you can tell by the things that she asked. She probed about what my career plan is and challenged me to be more specific about it. Okla let me think about it ya Koon.
I also got to meet Anin for the first time who is Koon’s friend. Such a colourful lady who are full of stories about life in the corporate world. Some of her experiences are very similar to what I have experienced and I can really relate to them.
I have to say that sometimes I’m in awe of what can happen in my life. Who would have thought that one day I would spent an afternoon chatting to these wonderful ladies Koon (from Australia) and Anin (from Indonesia) learning about people management and coaching.
It shows that just make the effort and go out there to meet people. You will be surprised by who will say yes to your request.
Someone I met through LinkedIn advised me to get out of my bubble.
There is more to life outside my cosy bubble.
