I have read hundreds of CVs and these are the Top 3 problems that I see
1. Too Long
The CV is too long. Panjang sangat. I lose interest already when I see it’s more than 2 pages long.
Please edit edit edit and cut cut cut until it’s only 2 pages long only. Focus only on the important things. But don’t reduce your font size pulak just so to fit it into 2 pages
2. Not specific
The CV is a generic CV that is sent to all job application. The same version is used over and over again. When I read it, I’m not sure what are your relevant skills
Please write your CV specifically for the job that you are applying for. Highlight and emphasize the relevant skills needed for this new job. Baru la senang untuk I nak shortlist you.
3. Boring
The CV doesn’t contain enough excitement for the hiring manager like me. Not enough details of the achievement for example.
Please think about how you want to wow me with your CV. When you write about your achievements, use numbers to show how big, how fast, how amazing your achievement was.

– Make it concise (2 page)
– Make it specific
– Make it exciting
