Presentation is actually about presenting MYSELF and not just about presenting the content.
That was the main takeaway from Ezwan Zakaria at the end of my presentation training last sunday. It was his aha moment.
This makes sense because communication effectiveness is only 7% dependent on content. The other 38% and 55% is dependent on the tone of voice and body language respectively.
Masa the training, each participant kena bagi a presentation and then we all give our feedback.
We made adjustments on how and where they stand, how much they were looking at the slides what they were doing with their hands and how they were controlling their voice and intonations.
Walaupun training 3 jam je, I can already see clear signs of improvement in them.
Next time I do this training (lepas bulan puasa) I will give more time for the participants to be at the front doing their presentation.
That was the most valuable part of the training.
