Networking is like driving in heavy traffic in KL.
When you want to change lanes while driving in KL, what do you do first?
You start nudging the front bit of your car out to tell the car behind you that ‘Hey I’m here’.
Because the driver can see you, he cannot ignore you anymore and gives way to you and let you change lanes
Networking is about nudging yourself out at the workplace.
To tell the people at work that ‘Hey I’m here’
Because the rest can see you now, they cannot ignore you anymore and start noticing what you do
If you don’t do any networking at work, you won’t be noticed and people might just bypass you.
