In New York, there is a tradition of going to the Chinese restaurants for Christmas lunch. New York is very multicultural so the tradition started for those who were not celebrating Christmas and have nowhere else to go.
In England, the main Christmas dinner is during lunch on 25th December. Im not sure why its called dinner when it is actually during lunch. All the shops and public transportations close down so basically everyone just eat and stays in watching TV
In Germany, the main dinner is on the 24th December and not the 25th lunch. So on the 24th everyone goes back to their hometown. Very similar I suppose to the Chinese Reunion Dinner. The Christmas market starts at the end of November and is really amazing.
In Malaysia, as you know we celebrate almost everything. That’s the beauty of our multiethnicity. We have guaranteed white christmas because of the fake snow.
Different countries, different ways of celebrating.
One thing in common is it’s all about good food and spending precious time with family and close friends.
Selamat menyambut hari Krismas!
