I was once a doctor who treated real patients. I was in the specialist training for renal medicine (kidneys) when I decided to quit.
I jumped ship and joined the pharmaceutical industry.
Friends and colleagues told me not to do it but I really cannot tahan anymore working in hospitals.
I gathered up the courage and took the plunge. 18 years later I am still in the pharmaceutical industry with good career progression.
When you are thinking about changing jobs, do the pros and cons first. If changing job is favorable to you then be courageous and do it.
People often asked me “how will I know that I am ready?”. The answer is ‘You will never know when you are fully ready’.
What you must know however is what are the transferrable skills that you can bring to the new job.
