
I have Writer’s Block
I want to write a book but I can’t seem to get going.
Summary dengan outline dah tulis but I struggle to write the rest of the book.
I don’t understand why I’m having problem with the book when I can write LinkedIn posts easily everyday.
After reading the worldwide hit book ‘Atomic Habits’ I realised what my problem is.
I don’t get any immediate reward from writing the book. It’s different to writing Linkedin posts where I get immediate reward when I post it every morning and get some responses.
According to James Clear, to start a new habit, you have to Make it Obvious, Attractive, Easy and Satisfying.
So based on this principle, I am starting a new habit to help me finish this book.
I am writing for 10 minutes in the morning.
I am counting how many words I typed during that 10 minutes.
I keep track of the word count every day.
Only after I do this, I am then allowed to start interacting on LinkedIn as my reward.
So far I am averaging about 300 words per day. So will take me about 200 days to write 60,000 words. Lebih kurang 7 bulan.
One day at a time, I tell myself.
