I Analysed 100 LinkedIn Posts

I analysed 100 Linkedin posts written by Malaysians and Singaporeans to see what factors contribute to higher engagements.

I defined high engagement as >50 likes within 24 hours.

The 3 factors that I checked are:

  • Number of followers. Ramai ke tak.
  • Use of hook. Menarik ke tak
  • Use of photo/video. Cantik ke tak

Here is what I found.

50 posts were written by writers with high followers (>3000 followers). 80% of these posts have high engagement.

When they use good hooks and/or good photos/video, all the posts got high engagement. Tapi kalau tak de good hooks/photos/videos pun, they can still get high engagements because they have many followers.

50 posts are written by writers with low followers (<3000 followers). Only 10% of these posts have high engagement. Overall, only a few used good hooks and/or photos/video which makes it hard to analyse the correlation with the engagements.

Based on this simple analysis that I did, if you want to get higher engagements, build up your follower numbers, focus on writing a good hook and include a good photo/video.
