How to control your nerves within 15 seconds of starting your presentation? Boleh ke?
The advice from Capt.Arivananthan Muniandy (Capt.Ariva) was to interact straightaway with your audience. Don’t start with an intro about yourself.
He admitted he still always gets nervous before a presentation. It’s normal to be nervous. But he knows how to control the nerves straightaway by interacting with the audience. He would ask them questions or get them to do simple activities with him. This not only helps to calm his nerves, it also brings some energy into the room and establishes early connections with the audience.
I pun still get nervous. Dah berapa banyak kali buat presentation, I still get the butterfly feeling in the stomach and the sweaty palm. My trick is to look at a few familiar faces in the audience and seeing their smiley faces will calm me down fast, if they are smiling la.
It was really fun talking to him during the webinar last Wednesday. As anticipated, he is full of energy, has many stories to tell and has many simple tips that you can use to make you a more better presenter.
You can have a look at the Youtube recording if you missed the session. The recording ada cacat sikit because I forgot to press the record button in the beginning.
