Don’t be Shy

Jangan la malu-malu.

Just look at the audience!

That is one very common problem that I see during presentations. The presenter is looking back at the screen where the slides are being projected and not looking at the audience!

When you do that, people won’t be able to see your beautiful pretty handsome face. Penat je pakai makeup. They can only see the back of your head or at best half your face.

The audience also won’t be able to hear you so well. Instead of projecting your wonderful voice towards the curious audience, you are instead sending your voice to the screen where no one is listening.

Most importantly you lose the connection with the audience. Tak ada eye contact. Eye contact is a very powerful tool for making a connection with the audience, to pull them in into your presentation. Without the eye contact, the audience’s gaze are wandering around without focus.

So next time when you are presenting, stand up proud and straight, face the audience and deliver your show.

More better like that.
