Climbing Gunung Kinabalu taught me don’t be afraid to ask for help.
I asked for some tips from my friends who have climbed Kinabalu before. Thank you especially to Jordan Khoo and Min Chia Teoh for telling me what to pack. And to Dr Zahurin Mohamed terima kasih for your tip about chocolates!
I asked for help from the amazing porters by using their service to carry some of the luggage to the midway point. It is RM14 per kilogram but it is worth it because tak la berat sangat the rucksack yang I sendiri pikul.
I asked the mountain guide for some tips on how best to tackle the mountain. Safrey, our guide told us to pace ourselves and not go too fast, take rests but only short rests and then to eat some snacks everytime we feel hungry.
All those helped me to reach the summit of Gunung Kinabalu safely.
Similarly with our work or other personal projects, don’t be afraid to ask for help and advice.
There are many people out there who are more experienced, who has done it before who would be more than willing to offer some advice and help out.
All you have to do is ask.
