The cikgu chose 2 captains and the captains then chose who they want to be in their team. And how do they do that?
The captains always choose their friends first before they choose the others. If you are good but you are not in the clique of the captains, you will be one of the last that they pick.
So it’s a little bit like that also in the workplace. It is much easier for a manager to choose you for the next promotion, to be in the team, if the manager already knows you. This is why it is important to work on your networking, how much exposure you are getting at work.
It’s not enough to be good at work, you also need to make yourself known to the right people.
